March 15, 2020
Alrighty then! It’s Sunday. We were supposed to head back to school tomorrow, right after a week of Spring Break. That’s not happening anymore, school is off – in my humble estimate, at least till September. But of course, no one has said that, yet. The official email we received on March 12th says that school is only closed till the 22nd. Right!
Anyhow, thought we’d have a trial day, inspired by all those mom-made “Covid-19 Schedules” that have surfaced online this week. We followed a very loose schedule and a had a lot of fun too!
This is how it went:
*Breakfast*
- Walked around the neighbourhood
- Attempted to teach my 4-year-old how to ride a bike. (Failed attempt)
- Hunted down beetles in the backyard
- Face-Timed grandparents and grandpa gave a mini lesson on money saving/ spending/ donating
*Lunch*
- 7-year-old practiced maths and spelling for 30 minutes
- Kids made Olaf the snowman from Frozen, for an arts and crafts activity
- Kids painted Anna & Elsa portraits for another arts and crafts activity
Aaaaaaand it's only 3pm.
Quick phone call is made. Playdate at our place with one friend results. Kids spent the rest of the evening playing ball, swinging & sliding, singing Frozen 2 songs, playing dress up and "mom & dad"
*Dinner*
